GLPSpot Companion App Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 21, 2026

This page describes how The GLPSpot Companion mobile app for iOS and Android handles your data. It supplements, and is distinct from, the main privacy policy for theglpspot.com. The website policy covers newsletter signups, contact forms, site analytics, and cookies. This page covers the app specifically, including health-tracking features.

Summary

The Companion app's tracking features, including dose logs, weight entries, symptoms, lab results, and medication regimens, are local-only. Nothing you log in those features is transmitted to GLPSpot, stored on our servers, or shared with any third party. It lives on your device and is deleted if you clear it in Settings or uninstall the app.

What the app stores on your device

All of the following is stored locally on your phone through standard on-device storage, including AsyncStorage and, for bookmarks, the device's secure storage. It is never sent to GLPSpot or any third party:

  • Dose/injection log: medication name, dose amount, injection site, date, and any symptoms you tag
  • Medication regimens: medication name, start date, titration schedule, and dosing frequency
  • Weight entries: date, weight, optional symptom tags, and notes
  • Symptom tracker entries: symptom type, severity, and optional notes
  • Lab results: marker name, value, and date manually entered by you
  • Bookmarked articles
  • Reading history / continue reading progress
  • Search history
  • Share history: which articles you have shared, for your own reference
  • App preferences: dark mode, font size, and notification settings

None of this requires an account. The app does not have user accounts or logins, so this data is not tied to your identity beyond living on your own device.

What the app fetches from the internet

The app fetches article content, including titles, text, and images, from theglpspot.com's public API to display in the app. This is one-directional: the app requests content, and it does not send any of your personal or health data along with that request. Articles you view may be cached on your device for offline reading.

Push notifications

If you enable notifications, such as weekly dose reminders, the app registers your device with Expo's push notification service, a third-party infrastructure provider used to deliver notifications, to obtain a device push token. This token identifies your device for notification delivery only. It is not linked to any of the health data described above, and dose reminders are scheduled and triggered locally on your device rather than sent from a GLPSpot server.

Data sharing

We do not sell, share, or transmit your health-tracking data, including dose logs, weight, symptoms, lab results, or regimens, to anyone. That includes GLPSpot, advertisers, analytics providers, and other third parties. There is no backend service that receives this data because these features read and write only to your device's local storage.

Deleting your data

  • Each tracking feature, including Dose Log, Weight, Symptoms, Lab Results, Regimens, Bookmarks, Search History, and Share History, has a clear option in Settings.
  • Uninstalling the app deletes locally stored data.
  • Since nothing is stored on GLPSpot servers, there is no separate delete-my-account process needed. Clearing data on-device is complete deletion.

Children's privacy

The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update the effective date above.
